Hey blog!!
[Guilt..Guilt..Guilt..]

1st post.. Nov 28th 2008
2nd post.. Nov 28th 2008
(Ahem...)
3rd post.. Oct 25th 2009

Now there a serious defect in the chronology presented above..
Things cant go on like this.. can they? Its an aweful thing to keep ur blog drought-prone like this.

Me: But wait a sec.. will I take all this bashing or do i have something in my defense?
Hmm.. ya I do.. but is it something worth mentioning even? Lemme think....

Hey ppl!!
[Guilt..Guilt..Guilt]

Phew!! I need your help 'round here. Is it just me or is it common to have a fear of posting crap on one's blog? U see.. my blog is angry with me. But it doesn't understand that all this silence was for its own good. I wanted to keep the content of the blog substantial and worth reading and didn't want to stuff it up with useless posts. Actually i was afraid.. afraid of posting something not up to the standards i set for myself. But then i gave it a thought. This fear, this phobia must be the same experienced by artists- directors of films, especially, before starting off with their piece of work.

Blog:Would you forgive your favorite director if he just kept delaying making a film and the reason he gave was similar to this blogophobia?

Me: No!!!

Blog:Then how can you forgive yourself?

And ppl.. that is how my blog convinced me to keep posting. Obviously this conviction might lead to some boring and stupid posts, but you see.. on the good side I come to know what my writing is worth in reality :D . Moreover, this risk - the risk of being insulted, criticized and rubbished off by audience and critics (though , probably, I'm not going to undergo such a treatment)- is what makes a conviction of an artist to his art so special . Isn't it?

Cheers,
Ram

I think I can understand this feeling. But sometimes its hard to differentiate between lack of inspiration and procrastination. Fear of being unoriginal and boring plagues anyone who expects people to look at his creation, judge and/or participate in a debate. Like your blog title so succinctly puts it though, all we can do is get down to write and hope something worthwhile comes out. And even on days when we write shit, its still okay, because what are good days without the bad ones. Those bad posts might still end up being a historical record of your moods and opinions.

Hoping you'll find this quote useful,

Inspiration is for amateurs - the rest of us just show up and get to work. And the belief that things will grow out of the activity itself and that you will - through work - bump into other possibilities and kick open other doors that you would never have dreamt of if you were just sitting around looking for a great ‘art [idea].' And the belief that process, in a sense, is liberating and that you don't have to reinvent the wheel every day. Today, you know what you'll do, you could be doing what you were doing yesterday, and tomorrow you are gonna do what you [did] today, and at least for a certain period of time you can just work. If you hang in there, you will get somewhere. -Chuck Close

Awesome quote. Looking back at this post I feel it sucks. I hate the style of writing. But as you said, it remains as a reflection of my past. And that is amusing in its own right. So I'm ok with it...
